"A Man Named Martin" DVD Study
Wednesdays, Sep 6 - Nov 29
9:30 - 10:30 a.m., Rm N205
In this study we will look at the man, the moment and the movement.
We will begin by looking at Luther the man, who was a monk in Germany who broke ranks with the Catholic Church because of his Spirit-inspired understanding of God's justification of sinners through faith in Jesus Christ, which was the cornerstone of the entire protestant reformation.
We will also look at the teachings & traditions of the late medieval church that ultimately inspired Martin Luther to nail his 95 Theses to the church door at Wittenberg. The study also examines the fierce debate that followed over Scripture, and church doctrine which led to the new theological position that salvation was given to us by God's grace alone through Jesus Christ alone. We will conclude the study by focusing on how the reformation transformed the society of its day and how the reformation still reverberates in 2017 -- 500 years later!
For more information contact, Pastor Carol Skjegstad via email or 763.231.2983. There is no need to register.

When Heaven Meets Earth Bible Study
Sundays, Oct 8 - Dec 17
9-10:00 a.m., N202
Two domains. One story. The Bible is daunting. It's full of puzzling metaphors, tricky translations, and characters who saw the world very differently than we do today. It's 66 books can feel cryptic and disjointed. Yet, the Scriptures have been crafted as one unified story. Understanding that story is foundational for knowing Jesus and participating in the movement He started. It's the tragic story of heaven and earth's separation. It's the redemptive story of God's mission to reunite those two domains. During this study, we'll walk through the Biblical story focusing on the concepts of heaven and earth. And be warned! It might totally change the way you think about the Bible and about what we think God is up to in this world through Jesus.

The Truth Project
Sundays, Jan 7 - March 25
6:00 - 8:00 p.m., N008
Jesus said, "...for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world -- to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
What did Jesus mean by this? Are the truth claims of God really that different than those of the world? Are we living our lives on the side of truth as Jesus calls us to do? Do our life choices, actions and words reflect what we believe is really real?
The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group study that practically and personally introduces viewers to the truth claims of God. The 12-week course is designed to build a systematic and comprehensive Biblical worldview in the lives of believers. Each lesson looks at like from from a Biblical perspective, studying the very nature and character pf God, and how He consistently reveals Himself to us in every aspect of life.
