CALVARY CHURCH COUNCIL
Calvary’s Church Council serves in three primary roles: 1) to provide wise counsel to the leadership staff, 2) to be institutional brakes, and 3) to be a crisis team in waiting. Calvary’s Church Council meets regularly — usually monthly — serving in three specific ways: 1) wise counsel, 2) institutional brakes, and 3) crisis team in waiting. Minutes encapsulate leadership staff reports and decision making and offer accountability to the congregation as a whole. (Personnel topics are captured, however are not shared with the congregation unless cleared by the council, personnel team and Calvary’s employment attorney).

Internships @ Calvary
What does an internship at Calvary look like?
Each student will establish a set of goals with their mentor/supervisor that they would like to achieve as well as be assigned a project to work on during their time serving at Calvary. Ministry leaders will consistently meet 1:1 with interns providing opportunities for students to grow, challenge themselves and experience ministry in a way that will allow them to think creatively, explore technology and develop their leadership skills.
Student Expectations
- Continued, intentional spiritual development with spiritual mentor
- Hard-working, humble, dependable and teachable
- Contribute to the experience with thoughtful discourse and confidence
- Average 10 hours per week
- Be creative, be open to the work of the Spirit, be engaged and have fun!
- Calvary should be your church home during your internship
Outcomes
- Growth in your personal relationship with Jesus
- Gain practical ministry/technical experience in desired career path
- Assistance completing school internship requirements
- Complete a path of discipleship led by the Discipleship Pastor
- Work on a ministry specific project due at the completion of their internship
- Learn Calvary’s Vision Culture Model as a foundational tool internship in ministry
- Network with other experienced ministry leaders
